Where Is Edward Cullen? » Wheres Edward http://www.whereisedwardcullen.com Thu, 19 Jan 2012 06:03:53 +0000 en hourly 1 http://wordpress.org/?v=3.2.1 Announcing the Where Is Edward Cullen Forums http://www.whereisedwardcullen.com/news/announcing-the-where-is-edward-cullen-forums/ http://www.whereisedwardcullen.com/news/announcing-the-where-is-edward-cullen-forums/#comments Mon, 12 Jul 2010 06:42:59 +0000 Mike http://www.whereisedwardcullen.com/?p=1465 With the success of our Solving Volvo’s Lost In Forks game post and it’s follow up post the Lost In Forks game FAQ, Hints and Easter Eggs things got a little crazy around here at Where Is Edward Cullen.  Since we first launched the post to help players of the game we have seen nearly 17,000 visitors from around the world, 1,515 comments, and over 100 hundred e-mails.  If that wasn’t keeping us busy enough we ran into some unwanted shenanigans with some rogue commenter’s impersonating other commenter’s and stirring up a bit of a mess not only for our readers, but also for the integrity of our site.

We have since blocked the most problematic commenter, but discovered today that there were others in the past that we will be keeping an eye out for.  A handful of commenter’s in particular were impacted significantly by the impostors including commenter’s under the aliases of Techie, Bella, and Alice.  To further protect our readers and to open up a new line off communication for our community of fans and readers, we launched the Where Is Edward Cullen Forums.  Since its start yesterday evening the community already has 42 members at the time of this writing and 779 posts.  Not bad for only being a day old.

We are continuing to develop the community and have added some general guidelines, information, and a number of Twilight related boards to get the conversations going.  We hope our readers appreciate the steps we have taken to create a secure, fun environment for fans to interact without having to worry about impostors posting under their name.  Sign up today, and be sure to stop by the “Newborns” thread and introduce yourself!

The first,created by one of the original Where Is Edward Cullen founders, Audrey, was a parody of the extremely popular and extremely viral Hitler rant videos. Titled, Hitler Loves Twilight, Hates Team Jacob Shirts, the video received over 7,000 views on YouTube. Sadly after the crackdown on the thousands of parodies by YouTube the video was removed. We have decided for now to provide the video here on Where Is Edward Cullen in hopes of bringing some new fans and new attention to the video.

The other two videos created for the site were music videos with a mashup of clips from New Moon set to the song Lost and Found by Senses Fail. The concept of the video was developed long before New Moon had even been released, and shortly after the films release I was able to make the concept a reality. I followed the video up a few short days later with an alternate version for Team Jacob fans, but sadly the videos were short lived due to Summit Entertainment stepping in and removing the videos from YouTube.

Because I am extremely proud of the videos and I think they pay some amazing homage to the New Moon film, I have opted to post the videos here on Where Is Edward Cullen again for your viewing pleasure. The imagery in these videos is the intellectual property of Summit Entertainment and myself, nor Where Is Edward Cullen own this footage. This was put together simply to show an appreciation for both the art of music and the art of the Twilight Saga series and how when put together they can be even more amazing.

It all started with a cardboard cutout of a certain vampire and an idea of taking him on a variety of misadventures. From there whereisedwardcullen.com was born and became what you see today, but alas the original concept had fallen a bit behind.

Last weekend we remedied that with a trip to Griffith Park in Los Angeles in hopes of finding the filming location of the meadow from Twilight. So we grabbed Edward and head out on our journey. Sadly, we never found the meadow, but we did capture some great photos of him in a number of other locations.
