How I Spent International Twilight Day

As we all know, today is International Twilight Day because the real life astronomical (atmospherical?) events The Twilight Series are named after all happen on the same day! If I were a scientist, I might be able to tell you when this is going to happen again, but I’m not so we’re going to go with “a really long time”.

Breaking Dawn

What Jackson does at the break of dawn instead of making sweet love to me. And that is him by the way.

I celebrated Breaking Dawn at the break of dawn by being asleep – like a normal person, or as close to a normal person as I am capable of. Whilst I appreciate the beauty of daybreak symbolically speaking I will only willfully be awake at this time of day if one of the Cullen boys (not choosy on which) is beckoning me for some slow, sloppy, half-asleep sex. That I will get up for. I wouldn’t mind seeing if the highlights in Jackson’s hair caught caught the colors of the rising sun as our bodies…

Anyway, moving on.

Eclipse

Today was marked by the longest total eclipse of the he- SUN that will be seen until 2132. Well – I suppose New Moon will be out by then, huh? My diligent research (aka “I wikied that shit“) tells me that, at it’s longest, the eclipse lasted 6 minutes and 39 seconds.

Of biggest note today was the launch of the official New Moon movie website. It is, far and away, the best movie website I’ve EVER seen. You hardly know where to click first, so I celebrated International Twilight Day by clicking into each section one by one and enjoying the pretty, pretty pictures.

Highlights: Click on the Cullen Crest for Edward’s voice … and a questionable picture of Jasper. I really can’t decide if he’s terrifying or hilarious, though I did like my friend’s response. “Is Emmett raping Jasper??” Click on Downloads for a gorgeous background picture of Edward and Bella. Last highlight – the Bella wallpaper is so beautiful to me that today marks another milestone: the first time since I became aware Twilight existed that Edward/Rob has not graced my desktop background.

And since we’re in Eclipse’s territory, Eclipse Director David Slade has recently rejoined Twitter and the man is endeavouring to drive me mad. He tweets about story boards and script progress…and drops in the occasional abstract photo of where they’ll be shooting. Honestly it’s a fascinating point by point of the filmmaking process, but really – I’m in a frenzy here. How am I going to survive until NOVEMBER, let alone June 30th at this rate?! Twilight

The first $14.99 Wal-Mart has gotten from me in about 11 years.

As twilight descended I sat in a park with my besties and website co-owners Mike and Audrey. We ate pizza, played the Twilight Board Game and they asked me ridiculous questions.

For the record, these are conditions under which I would NOT have sex with Robert Pattinson, even if he was begging: if he were covered in snot, poop, pee, pus (which I could not wipe off (“WHY?!” “I don’t know – because he likes it!”)), if I had to lick a popsicle that has entered a syphilitic baboon’s butt, if – GOOD LORD I AM OBSESSED NOT INSANE.

Audrey: What if it was Rob, Jackson AND Kellan AND you could do whatever you wanted to them…after you licked a colony of lepers.

Me: No. No. No.

Mike: …where would we find a leper colony in this day and age?

New Moon

Last, but certainly not least, today marked this month’s new moon. As I drove home from a wonderful evening with the Twilight Trio of Infamy, I speculated on what tomorrow will bring for the Twilight universe. Tomorrow is the Comic-Con panel. It was Comic-Con ’08 that brought us the first clip of Twilight, and the first glimpse at our stars. It was Twilight ’08 where Rob was first introduced to his legion of willing slave girls – I mean, fans. It will be interesting to see what a year in the lime light has done to them all.

Plus, Chris Weitz promised us an action scene AND a romance scene.
