Before There Was Edward…

June 9th, 2009 by Mike

On May 1st of this year we launched Where Is Edward Cullen and I’m sure most of the people out ther thought to themselves, “Great another Twilight site trying to bank off of the film’s success.”  But the truth is we each had our hand in Twilight news and opinions before Where Is Edward began, not to mention we started out with a cool Where’s Edward? post

We’re not some internet geeks trying to make a buck off of a popular film, we’re legitimate Twilight fans who love the books, the characters, and the films.  I take that back..We ARE internet geeks, but we’re not doing this just to make a buck.  So to show you where we were and what we were doing in relation to Twilight BEFORE there was 6’1″ cardboard Edward Cullen in our lives., I wanted to take a moment to share with you some of our past Twilight themed works.

Audrey

The original Twilighter and the one who got us all into this mess.  While her online work with the books and films may be less noticeable prior to Where’s Edward Cullen, her love for the series and the characters is unmatched.  Audrey’s blog was actually the first website to share the Decode lyrics by Paramore.

Kristina

The keeper of Edward Cullen herself, Kristina is well versed in the Twilight series and is quick to jump into any discussion or argument you wish to throw at her.  In fact she did a whole series of posts on my personal blog debunking Twilight propaganda that so many Twilight haters like to throw around.  The series was quite popular on my blog and actually got a lot of attention from both fans of the series as well as the haters.  Kristina also spent hours on end answering Twilight trivia and held the #3 position on FanPop for her efforts.

Mike

When you’re force fed the love for Edward Cullen and all things Twilight for weeks on end eventually you break, and now, here I am.  What started out as curiosity and the desire to simply build a soundtrack to a series of vampire books has since turned into a huge part of my life.  Strangely, though the last on board, I seem to have the most previous content…interesting.

The majority of my Twilight obsession originally revolved around putting music to the books, it then manifested into what it is today and I shifted my focus to more things Twilight including some of my graphics design work.

My Twilight Soundtrack – My take on what music fit the mood of the Twilight books by Stephenie Meyer.
My New Moon Soundtrack – The second in my series of soundtrack adaptations for the Twilight saga books.
My Eclipse Soundtrack – I think you get where this is going by now…
My Breaking Dawn Soundtrack – Did I mention that each of these posts has music you can listen to?

Twilight Soundtrack Review – An extensive review I wrote about the film’s soundtrack which takes a look at each song and how Ifelt they may or may not have fit into the movie.

Is Robert Pattinson Attractive? – A post/poll which stemmed from a conversation between Kristina and I about whether or not Robert Pattinson was actually attractive or if it was the Edward obsession that made people love him.  This post also resulted in my blog ranking in Google for Robert Pattinson Penis because of it’s ‘Blinded By Penis’ title.  Feel free to weigh in and take the poll!

Catherine Hardwicke’s Twilight Soundtrack Commentary – A piece of Twilight goodness that flew under the radar on all of the major Twilight blogs to my knowledge…This post talks about and has a link to audio commentary that Catherine Hardwicke did for the Twilight Soundtrack on imeem.

My Twilight Design Work – My educational background is in Graphics Design and it has since become one of my favorite hobbies. Twilight of course became a huge inspiration for me and resulted in two shirt designs and Plurk profile backgrounds for Kristina and Audrey.

Twilight Soundtrack What Plays When – One of the most popular posts on my blog to date, Twilight Soundtrack What Plays When dissects the soundtrack to the Twilight film and tells you when each song from the soundtrack plays during the film.
What Plays When Twilight: The Score – After a numerous number of comments on the Twilight Soundtrack What Plays When post asking about songs that were actually on the film score, I decided to do a follow up post.  What Plays When Twilight: The Score is broken down to tell you exactly when songs from the film score play during the film.  Kristina was actually a huge asset during both of these posts since she could easily remember and identify many of the songs.

So see, we’re not some Twilight wannabe’s.  We’re the real deal and we love these books, films, and characters as much as the rest of you.  I really hope our readers will take the time to enjoy some of our past musings about the series because those pieces were the foundation for the website you’re reading today.
