My Affair With Edward Cullen

You know you’re a nerd when you feel guilty for contemplating adultery with a fictional character in a video game.

Let me back up a second. Now, in case you’ve been living under a rock, there’s a video game called The Sims which is a human life simulation game (long story very, very short). I currently have the Sims 2 with most expansions, since my ancient computer nearly had a heart attack at the mere THOUGHT of playing The Sims 3.

Of course I added all the Cullens to the game – to be fair, I added all my favorite fictional characters to the game, but Edward and Bella are my favorite. I have been unable to force myself to let them get older – I mean, I let Carlisle and Esme get old and Esme DIED the other night – do you KNOW how traumatizing that was?! In any event, all the Cullens are in the game, and they all have kids (again, long story very, very short).

So, for some reason I had never added myself to the game. This weekend I did. I added myself and then sent myself off to Sim University where I was in a dorm with 2 of the Cullen kids, amongst others. To be entirely fair, I told myself I wasn’t going to go after anyone in particular, but guess who I started crushing on right away.

He’s the spitting image of his dad! Well, fast forward, we dated, we cuddled, we kissed, we graduated and we got married…and that’s where EJ made his mistake. He went and invited his parents to the wedding.

Guess who fell instantly in triple lightning bolt (Sims reference) love with none other than Edward “Panties Drop With One Look In My Golden Eyes” Cullen? That’s right…this chick. Ok, whatever. I have his son. Bella can TOTALLY kick my Sim Ass… I can resist right?

I am not kidding. I sat here for two days while my Sim gave birth to two of Edward’s grandbabies, TRYING to resist having a virtual affair – because I’m a dork like that, you understand. I LOVE Bella. Plus, I reasoned with myself, Edward would NEVER in a million years cheat on Bella.

Right, said my logical side, but this is the Sims. Edward wouldn’t have 7 kids (dude, he and Bella would NOT stop having sex, I’m not kidding) and 2 cats. This is the Sims – Esme shouldn’t be dead either.

I’m not going to pretend I didn’t have a big goofy grin on my face the whole time because I did. I really did. Holy CRAP virtual Bella, my mother-in-law for those of you who aren’t keeping up, is going to kick my ass. Especially since….
