International Twilight Day: Twilight Drinking Game

July 19th, 2009 by Mike

Edward Cullen After Drinking BloodEach day leading up to International Twilight Day I will be doing a post to help you make your Twilight celebration even more exciting.  Yesterday we covered some International Twilight Day recipes, and today I want to focus on entertainment.

It was a surprise to me just how many Twilight drinking games already existed.  Most of them mocked the film and said that you had to be drunk to stomach it, but many of them came from true Twilight fans.  I scoured the internet for some of the best reasons to drink and I have compiled a list below.  Take the ones you like the most and make your own drinking game, or if you choose to get really trashed take on all of these.

DISCLAIMER:

This game is intended for people of legal drinking age only.  Please drink responsibly! We are not liable for any damage you do to your body, any drunken phone calls you make, or complete strangers you wake up next to.

The rules are simple; take a shot or drink of an alcoholic beverage when certain things happen while you’re watching the Twilight DVD, however if you’re really that into Twilight you could also see if your local blood bank is willing to donate for the occasion.

Take A Drink Everytime…

  • Bella stumbles, falls, or stutters
  • Edward lies
  • Bella lies
  • Bella bites her lip
  • Rosalie looks arrogant and annoyed
  • Edward claims he is dangerous
  • Edward tells Bella to stay away from him
  • Edward saves Bella from something
  • A vampire shows superhuman powers
  • You hear a direct quote from the book
  • Someone hisses
  • You see a member of the Quilieute tribe

Take A Drink When Someone Says…

  • “Bella”
  • “Forks”
  • “Cullen”
  • “Edward”

Raise A Toast When…

  • The word “Chillax” is used
  • Waylon sings, “Mama said you never could make a kitty meowww” (And sing along!)
  • Stephenie Meyer makes her cameo appearance

Chug Your Drink…

Through the duration of Edward sparkling…I’ll admit in this case that the alcohol may be needed to get you through the special effects.

Now I know this one is focused toward our adult Twilight readers, but tomorrows International Twilight Day post is sure to focus on some fun things that Twilight fans of all ages can enjoy.

hahaha at least this might make the movie more enjoyable to my hubby!

    should be fun :)

  2. Danny Brown

That hubby would be me. :)

The movie isn’t all that bad – it’s the writing style(?) of the books that put me off.

Hey, I’d watch the movie even if it sucked just for Ashley Greene :)

ha he says that now, but it was in the theatre for 3 weeks before i could convince him to see it with me, and has since only seen it once on DVD… so much for having the hots for Ashley Greene

i also tried to convince him to do the Twilight Cruise (featuring Ms. Greene) – he gave that the big NO

haha Danny. I am quite the Ashley fan myself. I’ll admit that Stephenie Meyer’s writing isn’t the greatest, but it was more the characters and their stories that drew me into the books. Thanks for the comment. Interesting to see the various people that pop up here and there from the search and social industry that are fans of the Twilight saga in some fashion or another.

ok here’s the thing though. I had to beg Danny to read Twilight. And by the end he was all “meh”

that’s fine, i’m glad he finished it at least.
    then he saw the movie.
then he read the rest of the saga.

he read New Moon through Breaking Dawn back to back and could not be seen without his James bookmark.

i think he’s in the closet about his Twilight obsession lol he’s all talk about “writing styles” and what not lol

JacStar, I wasn’t easily convinced to read Twilight either. Audrey and Kristina practically had to bludgeon me with the book before I read it. It wasn’t until I had grown tired of the nagging and I was inspired to build soundtracks for the books that I finally gave in.

Once I read the first book though I was hungry for more and read all 4 one right after another. I spent many nights on the couch with a glass of wine and a Twilight book. Hell there were a few nights I fell asleep on the couch with a glass of wine and a Twilight book. LoL

Tell Danny he shouldn’t be such a closet Twilight fan. It’s got enough guy elements later in the series to balance out the sparkly vampire vibe. I’m going to be doing an upcoming series on Twilight from the guys perspective. Maybe that will help get him out of his shell. ;)

Yea – this is what I think is funny about people. The writing is “not that great” but even the Twi-Guys here couldn’t put it down. Back to back reading? I ALWAYS do that with “not that great” writing.

    ::roll eyes::

Snobs. :) I mean that in the best possible way.
