New Moon Speculation – The Trailer
Yea, it deserves the title status.
Well, I couldn’t sleep tonight so, as inevitably happens when you re-watch something a bajillion times, I started to over-analyze the trailer. Um, before I delve into that…let me just say, “You’re my reason for staying…alive. If that’s what I am.” What a perfect EDWARD thing to say. I am officially in love with that line.
Onwards.
On the fortieth or so viewing I started to be aware of someone other than Edward and Bella. I present Rosalie Hale - still being a bitch. Which is, at this point in the story, a good thing. Nice.
Love this set up - because isn't it just like Alice? You know she would have put every single piece of that entire table together just so.
Now that's something you never want to see...he looks downright frightening. Also - I, for one, love his new hair.
I love this part for several reasons - first of all, it just looks amazing - tense and beautiful. Secondly, if you'll notice Bella's feet and lil butt sticking out behind Edward. Edward threw her back and in the same moment pushed Jasper away. This is going to look awesome on the screen, much better vampire speed movements than Twilight methinks.
Is it wrong that the first thing I thought was - NO, not the piano!!!
A little difficult to see, but you can see when Bella is with Laurent that she has a backpack on. PS- Not pictured but OMG Laurent looks terrifying.
I mention because in the Jacob explosion into werewolf scene (holy crap - NOT disappointed, AT ALL), she is not wearing a backpack, which means it is not the Laurent scene. Taylor Lautner confirmed that is the Jacob vs Paul first reveal scene instead, so you can't say they've messed up the storyline.
Alright, Team Jacob, I digress. I would be lying if I said this body didn't turn me all kinds of on. I feel like a dirty old woman. ::goes and hides out with her gorgeous, shirtless Edward pics::
Generally speaking, everyone looks wonderful. A few thousand times better than the look in Twilight. I think Rob was right tonight when he said that in Twilight they felt like they were making an indie film. New Moon feels bigger, and I’m glad for the change – they deserved it for all their hard work.
You can feel the tension in Edward and Bella’s kiss in the beginning of the trailer, because we know it’s after her disasterous birthday. And good lord the break up scene is going to break my heart.
Is it November yet? I may just explode with impatience.

Might I just take a moment to thank you profusely for analyzing this before I really had time to stop and do it. I’ve seen it several dozen times and was so “upset” about the laurent thing happening so near Jacob’s house. I kept saying “that doesn’t make sense”…

Kinda curious how they’re setting it up. Obviously, they didn’t even try to film it in THE meadow…do what’s Bella doing out there? Ah, this is why I love the translation from book to screen – it is a different interpretation of something wonderful.

i agree on everything … except the new Jasper look
i’m not sure how i feel about the new hair. it’s probably better than Twilight but i absolutely hate the prep look he’s got going on… so Mr Rogers…
he can look smart and sophisticated without the need for ugly sweaters and perhaps loafers?
but i digress
very excited about the new high budget movie!
