Emma Watson Has the Hots for Rob Pattinson…Allegedly

I’m on the fence with this one for a few reasons, but figured I’d write about it anyways since I put some detective work into it and I figured you readers could decide what you think on your own.

A number of Harry Potter sites have posted images as well as translations of an interview with Emma Watson from Russian magazine I Love You.  In the interview when asked if she ever had a crush on Rob Pattinson, who played Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Watson responded:

OH GOD! Yes, he is absolutely hot! He’s driving me crazy…But we’re just friends and can just be talking on the phone for hours, because I know, that there’s something’s going on between him and Kristen Stewart. And I’m really happy that Rob became so popular on Twilight. He’s so gorgeous, that I wasn’t even surprised by that!

But here’s the part I am having trouble swallowing.  If you read the whole interview it sounds childish and unprofessional.  In past interviews I have seen with Emma Watson she seems to be very professional and mature.  The answers in the interview seem less than mature and in many ways seem to poke fun at her acting career.

Because of the questionable interview content I hit up the internet for help.  After asking around for a bit my wife was able to connect me with Konstantin Mozgovoy, a man she had networked with on a number of social networking sites who was born in Moscow and lived there for 25 years.  He kindly took a look at the article and confirmed that the translation that was posted was correct.  He did however say that the writing style and overall presentation of the article seemed weird for Russian journalism.  He felt that perhaps the interview was originally in English and translated to Russian.

I did some further research and it appears that the only place the translated version is showing up is on Harry Potter sites in relation to the Russian version, meaning that it probably wasn’t published in an English magazine first.  I’m skeptikal based on the manner in which Watson responds to the questions she is asked; so either she had an extremely uncharacteristic interview or the magazine is complete BS.  Either way I’ll let you be the judge.  You can see scans of the Russian magazine as well as read the English translation at SnitchSeeker

The bigger bummer here?  Looking at the cover there was a Twilight article somewhere in that magazine as well…
